About the Role
MidSouthWest Talent Competition is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
General Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and execution of live
events and talent competitions. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone
who thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in making things run smoothly
behind the scenes.
As a General Assistant, you will work directly alongside the production team to ensure
every event — from intimate showcases to large-scale talent competitions — is delivered
with professionalism and precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with pre-event logistics including venue setup, load-in, and equipment staging
* Support coordination of talent, performers, and competition participants
* Serve as a point of contact for vendors, ensuring timely setup and adherence to event timelines
* Manage general on-site tasks as directed by the Event Producer or Lead Coordinator
* Assist with registration, check-in, and front-of-house operations
* Help maintain event schedules and communicate updates across the production team
* Break down and load-out at event conclusion
* Perform various administrative and operational support tasks as needed
Qualifications
* Prior experience in event production, entertainment, or a related field preferred
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* Physical ability to assist with setup and breakdown as required
* A proactive attitude and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities
Preferred (Nice to Have)
* Familiarity with talent competitions, pageants, or live entertainment formats
* Experience working with vendors or production crews
* Valid driver’s license
